I will admit the title is a little misleading, but this has happened to both me and my husband. After updating to iOS 8.4, sometimes after charging the phone won't turn on. When I unplug it, it looks fine, but then later if I try to unlock it the screen is black and even doing the two button hold doesn't restart it. What I found is that you have to toggle the mute button a few times and THEN do the two button restart. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue. Thanks!

I don't know if this would help your current issues or not, but after iOS updates, I like to do a factory reset where I erase everything. Get old or any unnecessary files/data cleaned up. But make sure to do a back up either on iCloud or your computer/laptop before doing the reset. Restore from back up and hopefully it fixes those issues. I haven't experienced what you've written, but hopefully that issue can be fixed somehow.

The mute switch should not have anything to do with it. If it does then you got worst problems. Have not seen this in these forums. Two phones down for the same thing is crazy and I hope you get it worked out.
