Did anyone else notice that it now says iPhone 5s 16GB Gold (GSM) instead of iPhone 5s 16GB Gold (GSM) T-Mobile Unlocked? Just to clarify, T-Mobile vs AT&T 5s has the same GSM bands and comes Unlocked when buying it full priced at an Apple Retail Store?

I sure did. You are fine. my t-mobile 5s just came in the mail from the apple store today. before i turned it on, i popped out the tmobile sim and put in my at&t nano-sim from my iphone 5 and it worked out of the box, no activation hassle.

Dunno why Apple Store doesn't say it in the order status, scared me for a second. But rest assured, they're unlocked.

Is it required to restore the iPhone from iTunes like the AT&T models?

It's good to get confirmation of what we all suspected. It sounds like Apple changed the description either at T-Mobile's request, or in an attempt to discourage resellers.
