We have heard our fair share of stories of smartphones saving a person’s life in the past, and the roll of honor includes the , the Nokia x2 that allegedly helped lessen the impact of a bullet, or how about an aged Nokia handset that saved a 70 year old man’s life? An iPhone 5c was also credited for saving a man who was shot by a shotgun, while the Lumia 520 saved a police officer from having to end his career prematurely as it stopped a bullet. Hmmm, the common denominator here seems to be the Nokia name, but this time around, an iPhone 5s would take the plaudits.

A man living in Moscow, Russia, claims that the iPhone 5s from Apple can be credited for helping him stay alive until today, despite having to go through the harrowing experience of a horrific accident that involves not another car, but something larger – a mini-bus. Said Apple handset was located in the side pocket of the man’s jacket when the accident happened, and a metal bar ended up getting jammed into his side. The iPhone 5s absorbed most of the impact, and he claimed this was what saved his life.

After all, another 2 people lost their lives in the incident, which is sad, but perhaps Bendgate does have a happy ending in this case .

And yet they keep making it thinner!

And yet Jony keeps wanting to make them thinner. I've got an iphone 6 Plus. No super powers for me. :(

I'm glad the man lived. I'm sorry for those who didn't.
