Hey,

I received a new iPhone 5S the other day, and right away the screen was making my eyes hurt.

I read about interlacing, but I'm not sure that's the problem with my screen.

Here is a picture of notification centre being invoked, notice the very odd gradient pixelation? It's almost as if the screen isn't able to display the full gamut of colours. Like it's 16-bit. Also at times it appears that there are diagonal lines running through the display.

In normal situations the screen has fine colour display, although I feel everything has a slight dithered appearance to it. This just accentuates what might be wrong.

Is this interlacing, or something else? My Old 5 has a slight crosshatching effect when doing the same, but nowhere near this bad.

The phone's being returned anyways, just wanted someone to weigh in on this.

Comments?

*edit* before people say "extreme situation" It does the same thing though to a lesser extent when NC is actually pulled all the way down. Almost looks like an oil slick on my phone.
