Better speaker
Better battery
No more scuffs
Very amazing camera
Better and clearer screen.. Retina+
Faster
Finger sprint scanner
32GB base model
2GB ram
Dual flash with 13mp camera
And of course... iOS 7

Totally agree. They should've not released the iPhone 5 and waited until this year...while they waited for iOS 7 to be completed.

Of your listed changes, i think the only feasible ones could have been better battery, maybe more ram, dual flash.

Speaker is great as-is, everything scuffs, camera's great as-is, pretty fast already any faster and battery would be even worse - bleh, finger print scanner is dumb and useless, most people dont use 16gb of storage why pay more, and Jony's been working on iOS 7 for not that long wouldn't be possible

"Hey boss, should we release any of our technology to the public, ever?"

"No, not yet. It's still not... faster."

"...faster than what?"

"Quiet, you!"

What material doesnt scuff? @.@

There are a lot more scuff resistant processes. I carried an M4 rifle with anodized aluminum for 4 years in rougher places then an iPhone sees with minimal scuffing. I'm sure it has a lot to do with the amount of material beneath but still. I have a launch day Xoom I still use and its MINT.

I agree with the 32gigs of storage as base model. They should have the decency to offer us more storage at a lower price (after all, flash storage prices have dropped over the years) if they're not planning to let us use memory cards.

Well minimal scuffing is not no scuffing now is it? =P
They could technically make a more heavy duty phone, but it would definitely add some weight and bulk to it.

I could pretty much say no scuffing for a phone unless you are purposely throwing it into rocks and sand.

Even still like I mentioned my Xoom is perfect. It feels heavier duty too.

I am kind of surprise more effort wasn't considered with the 5 design. It's pretty easy to keep the 4S in near mint condition however there are a lot of reports of people with scratched iPhone 5's. While I wouldn't really care I'd imagine it would hurt resale value.

I'm not sure what everyone's fascination with the so called "Retina+" screen is. If they increase the resolution, it wouldn't make a difference. Our eyes wouldn't be able to make any distinction between the two. They can however improve color on the screen.

Sorry for my rant. I just see this everywhere and I want to clear it up. :p :) ;)

Some of these things are so vague. "Very amazing camera"? "Faster" (implying it should have been faster than the 5 already is, or what? "Clearer screen" How can it get clearer?

One camera improvement I would LOVE to see on the 5s would be the ability to toggle the perspective (I don't know if that's the correct term I'm looking for.) For example, I'd love to be able to hold the phone in portrait but be able to toggle the camera so that it shoots in landscape. It just seems more natural to hold the phone this way... at least to me. :)

The 5 already delivered most of this. 13MP camera probably wouldn't be an improvement. More memory? Sure, although they did increase the ram from the 4s.

Apple has a way of disappointing us every other year (think 3Gs and 4s) and I fully expect them to do the same this year as well ;)

Only improvements I see coming will be the following:
- faster processor
- more mp camera

this is exactly right... why expect more... though I don't see it as disappointments.

The 3Gs solved the biggest hardware deficiency the iPhone has ever seen. The 3G was unusable slow even without multitasking enabled.

The 4 is not unusable but it was always slow. I knew that when I purchased mine new. The one thing I really wanted was the [not yet available] speed of the 4s.

The 5 is the first phone where I'm not really concerned about getting a performance increase in the next generation.

Let's say the truth, even if it is bad to say. Apple could have introduced some of the cited features even last year, for example a better camera. Why did apple not do this? Simply because she already knew that even with a subpar camera it was possible to sell millions of phone, being able to introduce it in the 5S, inducing again people to change the phone, just in case a new brilliant idea is not available. Business is business, but this is not fair IMHO
