iPhone 5S Verizon Upgrade Question

Hey guys,

So I have a family plan with two lines, both have iPhone 5 on them. I want to upgrade mine so here is what I was thinking:

1) Add a line and buy the new iPhone 5S
2) Swap numbers with my iPhone 5 and the new iPhone 5S plan
3) Cancel old line that had iPhone 5 on it and pay the $230 ETF

Still would break even because I can sell my iPhone 5 for roughly $500 on eBay.

Is this possible? Or would I have to cancel the new line and pay the $350 ETF?

you pay the smaller etf by canceling your number, not the new number.

Oh okay. So I'd have to pay the larger ETF to keep my number? Can I do that right away?
