My iPhone 5 died over the weekend. I wanted to hold out till 6s came out, but the unfortunate happened. I picked up 5s 32gig but having a buyer's remorse. Should I pony up another 200 and possible 1 week wait for iPhone 6 64gigs or be satisfied with 5s for next two years?

2 years!! Lol I couldn't handle that:D

Yeah you are going to be wanting that Apple Pay and the camera focus is so fast, not to mention 60fps option for smooth pan.

The 6S will be coming out in a year. Did you buy the 5S on a two year contract? If so, I would not have gone that route. I would have bought a 5S on CL or some other selling outlet outright and then used my subsidy for the 6S in a year from now.

You will regret it for as long as you have the 5S. Pony up and get the 6. It's better in every way.

iPhone 6 man. 5s is too tiny and even if the size is right for you it's battery life is horrible.

I bought it off contract. My contract has expired but telecom here in Canada charges 20$ extra for having iPhones under contract. This, I like to keep phones off contract for bargaining power. My reasoning for getting iPhone 5s was the fact that by the time 6s or 7 comes up a lot of bugs and hardware issues will be fixed. It seems a lot of apps haven't been optimized for bigger screen or Apple found ways to utilize the screen real estate.

I tend to think future-proofing efforts are a waste of time. There will always be new technology "just around the corner." The bugs that technology will squash will be replaced by new bugs and imperfections of that new generation. The question to ask yourself is, will what is offered -today- be useful to you? Is a larger screen, better camera system, and faster network capability, to name a few, something that you will use and enjoy today? If so, then consider switching to the newer phone. There are no promises for what will happen or be available a year from now. Otherwise, the 5S is a fantastic device that will serve you well. I kept mine as a defacto iPod touch for gym and around the house network client.

Thanks for the advice. I will definitely sleep on this ;)

My feeling; Either go for 6+, atleast you have a lot better camera and battery life and beautiful full hd screen,
or be on 5S and then upgrade to 6S or whatever its called next year.

6 really is a disappointment when compared with 5S.

What does 6 have that 5S doesn't,

- Bigger screen. But the PPI is same, god knows how its Retina HD? Just because of more screen space, it can display higher than 720p
- Same camera but able to take 60 fps video. honestly, for an average shooter that not really much of a difference. same goes with pictures. Average day shoots are just as fine..
- high resolution panorama .. common, how many panos you take in a year ?

so if you have 6+ as an option, go for that..my 0.02$ over here ..

I had a 5S for 3 weeks, now sold it and took out a contract on a 6.

No regrets at all. It's a much nicer phone.

If the 5S had the same battery life, I may have been tempted to stick.

If its resetting your 2 year clock, then I'd say get the iPhone 6.

Another option is to buy a used iPhone 5s, check out swappa. It may be an option to hold you over for a year.

Of course get the 6. No question. It is the superiour product.

all this apple-toy-boy talk in this thread.

the 6 is, besides from the bigger screen, barely different than the 5s. and the back looks ugly as hell.

another 200 is only worth if you prefer a bigger screen.

Who knows what the 6S will bring, but we know it will likely be the same shape you see today with some spec bumps.

The 6 is worth the price of entry imho. If you NEED the 6S you can always sell the 6 for more money than the 5S.

Follow your instincts. Your instincts tells you buyer remorse. Why do people wait so long to follow their instincts?

The price bump will also give a 64gb storage. I may be justifying a reason to buy a 6, but $/gb is also cheaper. Any tips on getting lucky with online reservation ?

I am going to trade my 5S for a 6 once the local Apple has some stock. For me, the 6 has reached the optimum size.

I have a 5 on ios6, battery is better than fantastic. I'm thinking the 5s battery will be better on the ios7 it came with.

I took advantage of the generous iphone 4 $200 trade-in to get a 6.

I'm still looking for a 5s on ios 7.

The form factor of the 5 5s is hard to beat.

You would need a purse to carry the 6+ which is why so many females like them, they already have purses.
