Are there any cat owners here who would be willing to snap a picture of their pet using an iPhone 6/6+? I'm curious how well it can capture the details on their fur in comparison to the Galaxy S6's camera. For reference, here's a pic I found taken by someone else using the S6.

Thanks guys! Great pics and nice-looking cats! I didn't think cats would get along so well with guinea pigs!

We have more cats in the house and none of them are "interested" in her, ie they leave her alone. I don't know if it's because she's so big or if they just see her as another family pet. Of course, I wouldn't walk away from them like that.

The one on the left looks almost exactly like my wife's cat.
The one on the left is Tarzan. He is a really sweet 5 year old boy. The cat next to him is Cleopatra. Jane is my third cat who is not pictured, she is all black.

Similar lighting is important to compare to OP's picture. Nice looking cats though.

Very nice looking cats indeed! The lighting in these pictures seem to be comparable to that of the original picture. I guess this is stating the obvious that a 16mp image sensor seems to make a significant difference over an 8mp one when it comes to capturing the smaller details in photos. The fur in the original photo looks to be more defined, with less blur going on.

Assuming the photos aren't going to be cropped, do you guys think this will make for a noticeable difference when printed on a 4x6?

Love this thread! Definitely have to contribute. :) Here are my boys - Gizmo (in front) and Mason (sleeping behind).

Not to cry on your collective shoulders, but I lost my wife six years ago, and our kitty, Sebastian, was all that made life bearable. And a year ago last month I had to have him euthanized. I had him for 17 years and he was my sweetheart, my best friend, my companion, my living link with my late wife. I have a terrible weakness for ALL kittys, and I think this is absolutely one of the greatest threads ever on MacRumors. Thank everyone who posted pics of their beautiful cats. Thank you. It made me first smile, then get all weepy. Thanks.

Gizzy's eyes always get me. And, they really are THAT blue.

I'm so sorry for your losses. Honestly, I never truly understood the bond between people and their pets until I had my own. I just love my guys (and gal) to bits. They are such great companions. When my dad died, my mom's cat, Lizzy, was such a comfort to her. So glad you had Sebastian with you when you needed him most. :)
