Hi guys!

I'm contemplating either a 6+ or a Note 4 as my next device. Note 4 uses Gorilla Glass 4.

I've read various claims over the years that Apple does or does not use Gorilla Glass for the iPhone. I'm curious to know if they use it in the iPhone 6/6+.

A quick visit to Corning's website seems to indicate that they do not as Apple is not listed as a manufacturer:

Gorilla Glass - Full Product List

However, there's a little blurb that says "Select device manufacturers have not been willing to provide Gorilla Glass model verification."

I've emailed Corning too to see if they would confirm but haven't heard back yet.

Does anyone know?

You wont hear back. If they could say, it would be published on the web site.

And a call center/mailbox monitoring peon isnt going to know.

Apple doesnt advertise any third party suppliers. Not for glass, not for touch sensor supplier, not who fabricates their ICs, not who fabricates their dram or nand storage.

Its most likely Gorilla Glass or a close derivative.

Apple uses its own hardened glass.

So your phone choice will be made depending on what glass it uses?

No, it's just part of my research but not the deciding factor. It's more a question of curiosity than anything.

I was torn between note 4 and 6+ also but ended with a 6+ mainly because I like how it syncs up with my iPad and Mac! But note 4 is pretty sweet!

No way of knowing if it's Gorilla Glass 4. As mentioned Apple doesn't advertise its suppliers and iFixit never has mentioned anything about the glass when doing their tear downs.
