Is this it? Is the iPhone 6 (and 6 Plus) the last new Apple product to be released for 2014?

I know October is usually iPad announcement month, but with all the hoopla surrounding the iPhone 6, :apple: watch, :apple: pay, ios8 from last week's event...hard to imagine that Apple will THEN announce new iPads as well.

In fact, everyone seems to have forgotten about the iPads altogether. Wasn't there an article (or two) here on Macrumors suggesting that new iPads were to be revealed alongside the new iPhones during last week's event?

Not that I'm complaining. I would love to see new IPads by year's end. :)

Anyone have any insight???

Why? There's always a hype around Apple's keynotes...

Even if it was the case just this time, do you think Apple would just throw the prepared products in the trash?

That's just journalism, writing about what people want to read.

Normally after the release and the following few weeks of hype apple keep the momentum going with ipad hype which then lasts a month.

Them after that we get into Black Friday events and apple might expand shipments to other counties

Doesn't happen like that every year tho, I believe some years iPads received updates in March.

They will be the following updates:

* iPad Air with pressure sensitive display
(the same approach as on the Apple Watch)
* the iPad Mini without it, but with A8
* Yosemite
* A new Mac Mini designed like a small MacPro (with Yosemite)
* iPhoto needs to be shown
* iWorks with new iCloud features

There will be (in 2015)

* Another Apple Watch Event
* A new MacBook 12" designed like the iPad, super thin, but with a keyboard
* Hopefully a new iMac with "Retina" but not 5k, i.e 3200x2160 in 24"
(Thunderbolt bandwidth issues)
* Hopefully a MacPro "bump" that will cure some early spec choices
(GPU,PCIe lanes,etc.)
