Hello all,

Anyone else have a 6 Plus plugged into a dock (such as my Sony clock radio) docked using the lightning to 30 pin adapters?

I just got my gold 64gb yesterday and notice that it seems to charge quite slowly when docked that way as opposed to being plugged in using the wall charger.

Not the end of the world, just wondering if it's just me.

Thanks,
D:):apple:

Don't those dedicated nightstand type docks only charge at 1W?

Beats me. Is that the reason? I just notice that it charges slower than the 5S.

I'm pretty sure they do charge at 1W, due to the fact that by their nature they are charging for a long time (all night), hence the lower output.

As for it charging slower than your 5S-it's a newer phone, with newer tech and a bigger battery, so I would expect it to be slower.

OK, cool, as long as it's normal. Not a biggie at all. Just curious.

Also consider the battery capacities. The battery in the 6 Plus is over 1.5x larger than the 5s.

The other thing I notice is that my sony iphone dock/clock radio isn't compatible with this iphone. It will charge and then I will get a "this device isn't supported" message from the phone.

After ios 8 Sony Clock Radio Doesn't Play Music with iphone 5S

Ever since I installed iOS8, my Sony Clock Radio with the 30 pin dock (and a lightning adapter) doesn't recognize my iphone in the morning as the music "alarm". It will play music off of the phone if I start it manually, but it won't play music off of my playlists to wake me up.
