In the last week my iPhone 6 has become almost totally unusable some of the time. The keyboard takes ages to register keystrokes and sometimes no interactions on screen work. i.e. click / swipe. It is almost as if there is no spare RAM, i.e. it is behaving in the same way my MacBook does when RAM is maxed out by a rogue application. When typing for example it seomtimes takes 10-15 seconds to register a keystroke.

I have temporarily fixed it by sometimes turning off gboard, sometimes turning off bluetooth to disconnect my Apple Watch, sometimes closing all applications. But it always returns. Today I restored the iPhone to factory settings and it was fine but as soon as I restored from backup it started misbehaving again. What can I do to find out what is causing the issue?

Is your battery usage very high also? Have you looked to see what is using battery. Have you forced quit the applications and then did a restart?
