Hey all. Just picked up a used iPhone 6 to replace my wife's broken 5C. The iPhone 6 is in mint condition, but the battery... It barely makes it through a day of light use. I've also gone through and shut down all the background process including 'low power' mode.

The 5C and my old 4S would go days without charging under similar use. Is this now just what we get with the newer (larger) iPhones or is there an issue with my battery?

My advice to you would be to download Coconut Battery (for Mac, not sure if there is a PC variant), and take a look at both your charge cycles and % battery health remaining. These are key metrics in determining the overall age of your battery; the latter can be expressed in terms of capacity as well.

In addition, you could take it into an Apple store. However - knowing this could be inconvenient as it often is - I’ve heard of customer support doing remote diagnostic testing. I have not done this myself, but contacting Apple Support on Twitter or via Apple.com is a good course of action.

I suppose it comes down to what you consider a day, as well. True, the larger screens are more power hungry. But if you could provide some hard battery stats from Settings, that would be helpful as well.
