I finally got the new phone to pair with Bluetooth in my 2012 VW Passat. The display in the center stack is static, meaning it doesn't actively show the signal strength. Whatever the data was at the time the connection was made remains on the display and doesn't update.

Also, anytime I tried to make a hands free call, I'd get "call set up failed" error message. I could dial just fine from the phone, so it's not a reception issue. Is anyone else having problems with VW cars? How about other makes and models?

Any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

I will let you know tomorrow. I am getting my 6+ and have a 2012 GTI. Have you tried deleting all old profiles? One reviewer did not mention the car he drives but mentioned this was the only fix for him that came from Apple. Apple also said they are aware of the issue he had and working on a fix

Yeah, first thing I did was delete old profiles hoping it would help. Glad to hear Apple is fixing the problem! Let me know how things turn out with your GTI.

This... 2015 GTI. Resetting network settings on the phone seems to have been the key. Everything's working exactly as it should now.

So i've found a fix that worked for me!

1)Resetting Network Settings,
2)Removing all bluetooth devices from my car PCM
3)Resetting the car PCM (Switch engine on and off)
4)Re-pair the devices

Seem to be working; BT aux music streaming working, syncing phonebooks, call lists, making calls, receiving calls and audio/mic in calls.

Keep trying resetting and I'm sure it'll start working :)
