Anyone have good experiences with the iPhone 6 flash quality? I tried taking a few photos with it and the photos just turn out looking a little "overflashed" when taking closeup pictures of food I make and making the area surrounding the flash look dark. The camera takes much much better with the flash off.

Looking for tips and situations or shared photos with Flash turned on.

Flash is pretty crappy no matter how you put it. I don't think you'll ever end up with a good photo of food by blasting an intense light directly at it from right next to the lens. Same is true for a $1500 DSLR with onboard flash - it's there to save you from not being able to take a photo, not to make photos better than not using a flash.
