Has anyone noticed that if you're not under ideal lighting conditions (and sometimes even in good lighting) the iphone 6 sometimes has focus issues (doesn't focus, and stays out of focus permanently). Do you recon future iPhones will be able to fix this?

Poor focusing in poor light is a problem even with digital cameras not just phones.

Will it improve, I am sure it will but non-DSLR cameras including phones have never focused well without good lighting.

I've only noticed this when I tested video recording in a moving vehicle. If the camera was not completely stable or if it was raining, at times it would focus on the windshield instead. Also, it might be obvious but make sure you're not tapping and holding to focus since that locks the autofocus function.
