I took my iPhone 6 into the Apple store the other day for a battery replacement. They said they couldn’t get the phone to turn back on after replacing the battery, so they gave me a new iPhone 6. For some reason, I feel like the area with the front facing camera/speaker looks different, but without my old phone, I can’t tell. On the replacement, only the speaker and camera are visible. When I search for photos online for this spot, I get conflicting information. The photo on Wikipedia shows another circular sensor centered above the speaker. I feel like my phone had at least one other visible sensor, but I’m not sure, especially because I’ve looked at all different iPhones over the years. Did Apple ever change the sensors in that area over the life of the iPhone 6? I can’t imagine they did. Maybe the Wikipedia page is just using the wrong photo. I know some of the sensors, like proximity and ambient light, have been shifted over the years and were visible or not, depending on the model. I’m sure my old iPhone 6 looked exactly the same, but this is just bugging me for some reason. Can someone please weigh in on this?
Thanks,
Matt
