iPhone 6 iMessage - Transfer of Texts/Photos in readable format! *HELP*

Hello Everyone!

I have a 16GB iPhone 6. I have the problem of 8GB of Documents and Data. I am assuming 99% of it comes from a text message thread I've had with a friend. I am looking to find a way to download/transfer the content including ALL images and videos sent to my mac.

I do not use iCloud... nor do I want to.

Is there a 'safe' program or way to do this? I want to save all images ~5500... and text messages from my friend and I..

I just used PhoneView to download my messages to my computer, it saved the messages in text. But if you saved the photos I think you could download them too. Check it out, not sure if it will do what you need.
