I have the iPhone 6 and occasionally when I turn the phone to put it in landscape mode it does not respond and stays in portrait. When I reboot the phone it works again. Any ideas as to why this is happening? Should contact Apple Care?

Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help.

Maybe you have portrait rotation lock on in control center?
Otherwise, you might unfortunately be out of luck if your accelerometer is defective. I don't think so though. Maybe it's different apps?

When it happens it is all apps and the only correction I have found is to reboot.

My phone will not rotate either

I have found that my screen will not rotate from portrait mode to landscape mode as well. My rotation lock is not on. I have tried turning rotation lock on and turning it back off to see if it will correct the problem, but it does not. I really do not want to get another phone, because I don't want to trade one problem for another. Is this be a software problem or a hardware problem? Would downloading the most recent iOS update (I think it is 8.0.2) help?

Thanks.

I have the same issue. The rotation lock is not on, and the only way I have found is to set the screen to zoom, then back to normal.

Of course this restarts the iPhone so it must just be the restart that does this.

Software bug or hardware issue?
