iPhone 6 + Mac (Yosemite) with iTunes Match, playlists not syncing

Received my iPhone 6 recently and cannot get iTunes match to work properly between my Mac and iPhone 6. If i create a playlist on my Mac, it does not get created on the iPhone and vice versa.

If I make a new playlist on my iPhone 5C it IS reflected on the iPhone 6, but not on the Mac. Any changes made on the Mac are not reflected on either device.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with iOS 8 or Yosemite but is anyone else having issues getting this to work?

anyone having similar issues? Any fix?

Check for iCloud ineligible songs. That stops playlists in their tracks and will not sync.

library hasn't changed at all since before upgrading to Yosemite and the iPhone 6, so I don't think that's the issue.

those are the songs with an exclamation point next to them?
