iPhone 6 Mail Notifications on Lockscreen?

Is there some option that exists where new emails that come in via gmail in the mail app appears on the lockscreen/notifications? This is something I am used to seeing on my android phone that I am wondering if possible with the iPhone.

Yes. Settings / Notifications / Gmail

If you're using the stock mail app then it's under
Settings - Notifications - Mail

Show on Lock Screen is off by default, probably for privacy reasons.

Try installing Gmail app if you like push notifications like android
