Hey Mac Rumorers, got a weird one.

iPhone 6, out of nowhere, wasn't able to find a cell signal. Hard reset, reset network, settings, nothing. The phone didn't even know its own cell number. It worked on wifi, but not cell.

So figured it was hopefully a software issue, and restored. Got halfway thru the restore and it stopped, gave me an Error 50 (error -1 on windows...tried multiple machines). Tried DUF restore too, same issue.

Tried the hair dryer trick, tried the freezer trick, same issue.

Any ideas what could be happening, or what to do?

THANK you

How is the battery doing? Lots of iPhone 6 units with battery problems.

Best to let Apple diagnose, it is free.
[doublepost=1500050636][/doublepost]Batteries fine.

But...

I'm almost in the middle of nowhere, no Apple Stores around :(

Is there a way to erase the phone completely without itunes, then reinstall from scratch?
