iPhone 6 not recording HD

Why is my iPhone 6 not recording in HD? Playback on phone looks fine but when I send the video I recorded via e-mail or through FB it looks like crap. Is there a setting or something I'm missing?
 
The iPhone down samples the video in emails and texts. For Facebook you need to select upload video in HD.

Settings-->Facebook-->settings-->toggle upload in HD to on.

The iPhone 6 (and Plus) cameras only record in 1080p HD. (30 fps by default and you can enable 60 fps in the Photos & Camera settings.) Like you said, it looks fine on your phone so therefor it is probably recording HD fine.

I just did a test myself and when I emailed the video to myself the video I got was down-converted to 568x320 and only 1.7MB in size. The 18 second video I tested with (which was 1080p 60fps) was originally about 58MB. So it would seem that the iPhone down converts automatically before sending them as attachments. I don't see a way to change this, but since the iPhone 6 only shoots 1080p those files would get too huge to send as email attachments anyway (dropbox is probably a better solution).

I also uploaded that same video with the current version of the Facebook app for iOS and it appears it isn't uploading the HD version and is also downconverting the video as well and as you said it looks like crap.
(UPDATE: the person who posted before me said there is an HD option that needs to be turned on).
 
Thanks guys! I figured it is down converting.

Is there a way to have it upload full HD over e-mail/text and not down convert?

Not that I have found.

Also, I just did a test with FB. I turned on HD for Facebook in Settings-->Facebook-->settings-->HD toggle, but if you send the video to Facebook directory from the "Photos" app in iOS it still gets uploaded in SD. It will only get uploaded in HD if you upload the video using the Facebook app itself. Facebook needs to update the app for iPhone 6 (or at least the 6 plus) because when you select photos or videos to upload from the Facebook app, the selection screen with the thumbnails doesn't fit.

That could be a pain, because I believe when you upload slow mo videos to FaceBook, you need to use the iOS photos app.. if you upload it using the FaceBook app itself it displays in regular speed.
 
Okay, thanks for suggestions guys. But yeah I noticed that you have to use the photo app from FB for it to upload in HD.
