I recently moved to an Iphone 6 Plus from a Galaxy S3 and have generally been happy minus some UI quirks. I was wondering if only certain apps are able to be rotated into landscape mode. Apps like YouTube and Twitch will not rotate to landscape when I turn the phone physically in iOS 8.0.2.

Is this something the app developer has to support?

Yes, this is something that will vary from app to app.

Make sure that you don't have rotation lock turned on, though (bring up control center by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and it's the top-right button).

Yes, there are certain apps such as Facebook, Words with Friends, myAT&T, and Instagram (except when commenting) that only work in portrait. It's completely up to the discretion of the developer, and is not a problem with the iPhone 6 or iOS 8.
