iPhone 6 Plus: Difficulty Opening Control Center on Landscape Fullscreen Apps?

Anyone else experiencing this? When I try to open control center on landscape (fullscreen apps), the first time I'm swiping from the bottom of the screen, the small arrow appears, but when I swipe for the second time, most of the time it just disappears, unless I'm doing it very quickly and accurately. This doesn't happen on my iPad. Is this the case for everyone using 6 Plus?
