Hello, I purchased an iPhone 6 plus from someone, and in order to activate the phone, even with my sim in the phone, it's trying to activate with his phone number.

Any solutions or do I need to return to him.

Which carrier?

More than likely he'll need to activate it himself before you will be able to.

I'm assuming you did a reset before putting your SIM in there, since it looks like he previously activated it?

When I got my iPhone 6+ from the Apple Store it automatically tied my cell phone number to the iPhone. I didn't have to contact AT&T.. All I had to do was simply turn the iPhone on and it was ready to use.

I suggest you contact the seller and have them contact the carrier to settle the situation.
