iPhone 6 Plus home screen rotate

My wife and I both have 6 Pluses. On mine, when I rotate the phone sideways the icons on the home screen rotate with it. I can hold it upside down and everything. Just like an iPad. On hers, it didn't do it. I was like "Woman, you got orientation lock turned on. Turn it off". And she was like "I'm not an idiot, I checked that already. Go make your own dinner." Sure enough, orientation lock wasn't on. After doing some futzing (while eating a crappy Hot Pocket), I found out that if you use the zoomed view, the home screen doesn't rotate. I had the same behavior on my phone when I turned on zoomed view. Weird. I wonder if this is a bug or intentional for some reason.
