in the keynote they indicated you could double press the home button to bring the top of the screen down so you can reach it with your thumb. Double home press is currently used to show open apps, so you can swipe them up to close them. How do we close apps under IOS 8 and iPhone 6 plus?
 
You misunderstood (as I did at first too). You double 'tap' the home button for top screen pull down, double press to bring up recent apps.
