Is image stabilization always on for both cameras, in all modes? Was wondering if there is a test to see if working? Able to turn image stabilization on and off?

It probably works like any other image stabilization: when the light is dim enough that it's needed, it'll kick in.
Well maybe I'm used to my Nikon DSLR... Where you can turn IS (VR for Nikon) on and off. Ex. Off when using a tripod.
