Iphone 6 plus - keyboard lag?

For about a week now, my iPhone 6 plus has been exeriencing significant delays when typing (text, email, web search, etc). I would be typing, the phone would lock up and then 10/15 seconds later it would all catch up.

I tried resetting the keyboard - but did not work. Has anyone else experienced this? Any recommendations? My wife has the same phone and has not experienced this issue so age of phone is not the problem.

I've only had this issue once on my 6s+ and I powered the device down for a few minutes and then when it rebooted, has been fine since.

Reset the keyboard dictionary.
