iPhone 6 plus messaging Q

I am using the messaging app and it doesn't let me insert pictures in that cool view like my 5S did, where is showed you picture previews etc. what gives

Like when i click the inset picture icon, it comes up with the classic menu that says

Photo Library
Take Photo or Video
Cancel,

With the 5s on iOS 8 it came up with thumbnail previews.

Normally I would have been like what do you think I'm stupid? But i just checked and they are not downloaded it will wait till they're done and check
