So I've noticed the 6 Plus has a loud vibrator inside of it. It's paired with Apple's leather case so I'm wondering if that's making it louder?

Have any of you noticed that's it's quite loud compared to previous versions?

Yes it is louder and i like it that way. On my 5s i always missed calls/notifications when i had it on vibration and i couldn't feel/hear it when it was sitting on my desk.

yes it's much louder. It's only an issue for me when in meetings and I place my phone on the conference table (even with apple leather case). Need to keep it on something softer or on my pocket.

Other than that I like it because I will miss less notifications.

It's the same on the iPhone 6. It's certainly startling the first time it goes off.

It is loud and I'm not a fan of it. I don't see how anyone can really like it... I mean, for those that like it because they can HEAR it loud and clear, you do realize there is a setting specifically designed so you can hear your phone when it rings correct? And the silent mode isn't it.

Actually I thought the opposite. Normally I could hear when my phone vibrated on the sofa with my 5S, now with the 6+ it goes off and I dont realize until I go and check my phone. But there are other variables that couldve been present, but for me at least, the vibrator sounds quieter.

same with the 6!

Now that I'm back to the office (where it's quieter and other people are around) with the 6 I'm really noticing it. It's both louder and buzzes harder on a table and in my pocket. I'm not really complaining, it's neither here nor there for me at this point, but it's VERY noticeable. I can imagine with the plus being even bigger it's even more so.

So will the apparent louder (= stronger) vibration mess up the OIS mechanism in the 6 Plus?

I don't think it's great that the delicate lens actuators get unnecessarily shaken.

I now have mine turned off completely in silent mode (I use silent mode during the day at work). It's just way too 'buzzy'. It even bugs me at night when I plug it in -- wish there was a way to override the "buzz/chirp on charging" feature.

I guess it's great that you can hear it, but at least on the 6 Plus, it feels like overkill.
