I have a simple question that probably can't be answered yet ;-) Maybe someone can speak on past experience for how the 5s was handled.

Many of us who pre-ordered the iPhone 5 began a 2 year contract. Most of our 24 month periods end on September 21st. If the iPhone truly is unveiled on the 9th of Septemeber I would assume the preorder date will occur prior to the 21st. Do the carriers (Verizon specifically) bump that date up a week or so to allow early adopters to preorder on launch day ?

My Verizon upgrade date is Sep. 21. I called Verizon today and the agent said that it is very likely I would be given an early upgrade, since it will probably only be a matter of days earlier than the contract says. I will be trying to do just that when preorders open.

Just thought about this today, and I'm in the same exact situation as you.

I would hate to not be able to get the subsidized pricing, as the pre-order date would most likely occur before the 21st.
