iphone 6 running extremely hot and killing battery

I am not sure if it's a hardware or software issue. Anyone find running certain app makes iphone 6 extremely hot, which then also kills battery?

Have you checked settings-general-usage-battery usage to see if a rogue app is at fault?

It seems like it's mainly spotify, Safari and home lock screen

I would uninstall spotify and see if that helps then.
