iPhone 6+ - unavailable to pick up in store

I want to know if you have some news about the date I will be able to buy my iphone from apple store online and pick it up in a NYC store since as per today info, it is still unavailable to pick up in any us store.

does anyone know something about this? or when do you think it will be available to pick up?

If you want to send it to a friend then why are you concerned about in store pickup? Just order it now and it will ship to your friend as soon as it is in stock.

apple web informs delivery for Oct 20th to Oct 24th and my friend is staying till Oct 15th, that is why?

I called them but they don't know. maybe in previous launching you may remember how long took to apple to renew their stock at their stores..
