I went to the Genius bar who told me there's an internal issue for this problem: the screen becomes unresponsive and there are flickering grey bars from the top of the screen.

I've removed the ribbon cable plate and re-attached the ribbons but inevitably the issue returns.

I'm out of warranty and trying to fix this myself...has anyone had any permanent success fixing it?

Interesting - I am seeing exactly the same issue myself just starting within the past few days. iPhone 6Plus iOS 9.2.1
