How come the watch seemed more of a secrect as opposed to the phone whose leaks proved to be almost 100% true?

How come they managed successfully to "put the lid" on the watch?
 
Probably because it hasn't reached mass production yet, meaning the models shown off yesterday were all designed and built inside of Apple HQ.
