iphone 5s on verizon, currently can not do voice and data at the same time, will the iphone 6 allow that?

iPhone 6 (VZW) LTE/Data while on Call...

Is this possible now? if i remember or have known that this was still not available for the 5S. Even though all iPhone 5S for carriers aside from Sprint were the same build and antenna.

Here is The Verge's latest story on it.

VZW is still being light on the details, but it's sounding like it could (finally) be rolling out relatively soon.

A few of the details:
Verizon's VoLTE service will work wherever the carrier has LTE data coverage, which is most of the United States. In order to support the new service, Verizon says its network had to be substantially upgraded, and it wasn't going to roll out VoLTE until the experience was up to its standards and customers' expectations, which is why the launch was delayed numerous times.

Verizon's initial launch of VoLTE has been long awaited, but it's likely that most of the carrier's customers will still be waiting a while before they're able to take advantage of it.

Verizon and Multi-tasking

Probably a newbish question but I have been on AT&T for many years. I know there used to be a limitation with Verizon phones where you could not multitask on the phone when actively using it as a telephone. Is this still true or have they resolved this? I want to switch but this is important to me as I do many conference calls on my phone. Thanks.

No. Not yet.
No, because VZW doesn't support voice over LTE.

What's this?

Right now only some phones on their network allow it but as it stands, VZW now has to turn that feature on. It used to be a hardware limitation with the iPhone but I don't think that is the case now. If the iPhone 6 takes this limitation away then it is on VZW and based on the above, it seems like it is possibly coming.

So does supporting VoLTE (which the 6 does) guarantee that the conference feature will work on Verizon like AT&T?

The guy at the Verizon store today told me you can now use voice and data simultaneously...at least in this area.
