Is the 6 still a good phone to get now in 2016? I'm switching back from Android and the se is very appealing but I don't think I'll be able to go back to that small of a screen. I would love the 6s but money just will not allow it. So I'm looking at getting a 64gb 6 for $68 on contract. What are people options on this phone 2 years later?

Depends what phone you are coming from too. I'd say if you can pay a bit more go for 6S for the longer support including better features too!

Get iPhone SE,the screen size is definitely small but it will last longer than iPhone 6 in terms of performance and battery life

Huge difference in performance from my recently acquired 7 to the 6+ I had been using up until Friday. I don't think the 6 is a good phone to get today.

Still quite happy with my 6; it runs iOS10 without issue and does everything I need it to. I went into a Apple Store today and compared it against a ip7. The 7 was faster, the camera was a little better and the home button was... well... felt a bit weird. Nothing I saw wanted me to upgrade; I'll wait until next year.

No, get the S at minimum. The 6 is really starting to show its age on ios10. I definitely wouldn't want to have it on ios11.

On the other hand, my 6 is still performing like new on iOS 10. So much so that even though I'be been tempted by the 7, my 6 is performing and handling all my needs so well that it's really hard to justify replacing it. It may be 2 years old, but the iPhone 6 is still an above average smartphone in my opinion.

I'm coming from the LG g4. The price difference between the 6 and 6s is $200 on contract. :) sold the LG for that much so I'm really considering it.

This was my feeling as well. All the lag and stutter that occasionally reared its ugly head has all but been eradicated in iOS 10. It runs amazingly well on 10 and I was shocked by it. You do notice the 1 GB of RAM at times but, if you not a power user, it's pretty inconsequential. Not sure I'd buy it for the long haul but over the next year, I think the 6 is a great choice at the right price.

If she already had a 6 and was considering holding off a year for the 8, I'd have a different opinion. I'd have trouble committing 2 years to the 6.

An ip6 on iOS 9.3.5 can run that OS forever quite nicely with no lag until the phone eventually dies of a malfunction. iOS feature creep with every update is what makes phones unbearably slow.

True enough. I think that the 6 will be fine for the next year, especially seeing as how if anything iOS 10 may have actually improved its performance. But it may not be the best choice if you want it to last 2 or 3 more years, unless you can get it at a really good price.

$68 is a super price for this phone on contract! If no one has it in stock then I'll get the 6s.

I'm still moving along with my 6 Plus. Can't justify the update personally to the 7 Plus. Also at a quick glance since I've got the gold 6 Plus (ooh rare!) most people at least think I've got the 6s Plus and some people think I have the 7 Plus. For my needs the performance is adequate. I think battery life is still good and speed isn't really an issue for my day to day usage professionally and personally.

I think I can hold off for just one more year and get the true design refresh with the iPhone 8 (or whatever they're going to call it).

iPhone 6 is a great phone. 1 GB of Ram is where it has its shortcoming. To bad Apple discontinued it.
