Hello everyone,

I'm trying to restore my iphone 6plus from my itunes however when I plug in the 6plus itunes just opens up but does not show the device anywhere. Here are my specs:

MacBook Pro Retina - Version: Mac OSX 10.8.4

Itunes version on MacBook Pro - 11.0.5

Successfully back up iphone is iphone 4s, ios version - 5.1.1

trying to restore on a iphone 6plus; ios version 8.0

When I plug in my iphone 4s (original phone) itunes recognizesthe device and shows that it is backed up. But my 6plus does not get recognized.

Any thoughts or suggestions on this smart people? Could be due to the version of itunes?

Your help is much appreciated

Thank you!

Hello there,

My itunes is not up to date. Do you think that is the issue? And if so, will

a. itunes lose any of the backed up info from my iphone 4s?
b. will i need to back the 4s again?
c. if i ever have to hook up the 4s again, will itunes recgonize it?

Once I do restore the new 6plus from the back up, is there any info that will NOT get transferred over? And will I need to update all the apps or will they automatically be updated?

Thank you!!

You need itunes 11.4 for it to recognize a 6 or 6 plus, and no you wont lose your backups
