Hi All,

I have had this phone for 2 years now and have always charged it via the charging lead to my iMac, with no issues...until now.

After charging a couple of days ago, I now have a non-functioning iPhone with a white screen with the following message.

Activation Error
Activation could not be completed. Please restore the phone and install the latest version of IOS and attempt activation again. If the problem persists, please contact customer support.

What I have done so far:
  1. Managed to retrieve all photos.
  2. Established that nothing can be done through iTunes. I get the folowing error: We're sorry, we are unable to continue with your activation with your activation at this time.
  3. Attempted to retrieve my 'contacts' list with no success. The list was not saved to iCloud.
Before I attempt a restore or update, if possible, I would like to retrieve my 'contacts'. Can anyone recommend a procedure/app for this?

Thanks in advance :)

You said you've been plugging your phone into your Mac for two years, so your photos and contacts are synced to your Mac, no? Beyond that, my recommendations are:

1. Restore the phone and install the latest version of IOS and attempt activation again.
2. If the problem persists, contact customer support.
