hello folks,
Ever since I moved from iOS 10 I see big drop in battery usage. I went through all possible settings and put mist things off just to eliminate potential battery drain.
What is your experience ?
What is the normal usage/stand by time that should serve as a good benchmark?

Here is the usage data

This is normal.

This is Apple’s planned obsolescence.

Battery life on iOS 11.4

iPhone 6s 4-5 hrs
iPhone 7/SE 6-7 hrs
iPhone 8/X 8+ hrs

I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s planned obsolescence. That’s a bit rash. The fact is the 6s is over 2 years old, and who knows what state this guys battery is in. Even a brand new 7 doesn’t get great battery life, and it never did. Planned obsolescence would be causing parts to fail that can’t be replaced. Technology is improving fast and the older phones are being left behind. That is not planned obsolescence.

The battery has been just replaced. It is iOS 11 that made it worse.

I am talking of estimates with brand new batteries.

Mine was great on 10.3.3. One year old 6s. 96% battery health.

It tanked upon upgrading to 11.4 three weeks ago.
Mine was amazing with 10. Really hate Apple for their greed. Next phone is going to be Huawei. Enough of Apple politics

Those who don't understand Apple's planned obsolescence are idiots of the first order. :)

I restored and updated from iOS 9.3.3 to iOS 11.3.1 when it was still being signed since I heard iOS 11.4 just randomly drains the battery even on standby (all iOS devices). Planned obsolescence or not I still get the same battery life. My battery maximum capacity is currently at 87%, not bad for a daily iPhone that’s gonna turn 3 in a few months, bought it on launch day in 2015.

The 6s battery is currently being recalled by Apple. Your 6s might be eligible for a free battery replacement. I know mine is but it runs fine like I said.

iPhone 6s battery replacement program:

EDIT: I just realized you replaced the battery... could it be a faulty or a non-OEM battery? But then again iOS 11.4 is a crappy update... you’re less likely to run into these issues if you updated or restored through iTunes.

This is far from the same.

On iOS 9 you should have got 2+ hours usage with 84%.

Snapchat is a battery hog even with “Location Services” settings turned off. So yeah, it’s the same based on my experience.

I have had experience with many Apple devices. And future software updates almost always make the battery worse over time. Even if you put a fresh battery.

As I said, iPhone 6s with new battery and iOS 10 was amazing. Apple forced me to move to iOS 11 as the mail app was not synchronizing with gmail. As soon as I moved, the battery nightmare started. It is a new battery.

Wear level is 1%.

Try restoring or wait for Apple to release iOS 11.4.1 which will pretty much fix the draining issues that the world is going through right now with iOS 11.4 (you are not the only one).

Update through iTunes this time around once it gets released for a cleaner install.

Apple is doing it on purpose. All companies and businesses are doing somethinng to make people buy new things all the time, but Apple is the most greedy. Next phone will be something else. Just to try. Huawei or Pixel.

It was happening to my 6s with a new battery on 11.4. I tried 11.4.1 beta and still was draining. Now I'm on iOS 12 beta and it was good for a week but is draining again. Something is killing these older devices for some reason.

My X is draining on iOS 11.4 too.

The first time I installed iOS 11.4, it was perfect battery life. Best ever. This time it’s draining.

Apple destroyed the battery life on my 7 Plus on iOS 11. I agree with the posters that its planned obsolescence. Unfortunately short of running in low power mode all day there is no solution to the problem.

My sister's iPhone 6s battery life (iOS 11.4)

The battery was replaced in February of this year.

Planned obsolescence l guess...

When you say "planned obsolescence" what do you mean...?

It depends on your usage.
