iPhone 6s battery issue

The battery icon on my iPhone 6s (Space Grey, 16GB) has been freezing. That is, the battery percentage will get to a certain level, e.g., 92% or 77%, and then not change even though I have used the phone for several hours. Upon reboot, the battery level drops precipitously. My phone has even shutdown because it ran out of battery life without giving me the 20% or 10% warnings. Anyone else having this problem?
