iPhone 6s died at 23%

I was outside and my was recording a slo mo video at max brightness. It was at 23% and as soon as I stopped recording it turned off. I plugged the iPhone in and it said it was dead but then it turned on at showed me it was at 22%. Is this a software problem or a battery problem?
