Do you think Apple will ever give the iPhone 6 the same landscape features that the iPhone 6+ has?

No. It involves the Single-View Application ("universal storyboard") in Xcode, which considers an iPhone 6 Plus in landscape to be able to show an iPad layout, but not iPhone 6...and I don't expect that to change.

I have to admit, it's a little silly but that makes the 6 plus that much more attractive to me.

So Portrait mode is the same as the iPhone but Landscape is the iPad format?

unlikely due to the lack of screen size. There's no amazing benefit to do it.

with the exception that the dock goes over to the right rather than the bottom, yes.

and i rather hope that the option to do the same with the dock hits the iPad.
