well here I am, sold my Galaxy S8+ and eagerly await the new iPhones. I've been using my old 6S+ as the stop gap phone for. Now. I notice the phone gets warm and eventually hot after couple mins of continuous usage. I've disabled Bluetooth, turned off the app auto refresh and my brightness is being set at middle. I wasn't even streaming either, just basic web browsing and using news apps. Could it be the battery had gone bad? The battery drainage is exceptable but not good at all, especially coming from Galaxy S8+. Any idea why it gets so hot so quickly?

It could be that your battery is worn down. I had a similar issue.
I recommend installing a free app like Battery Doctor to check the wear level. You may have to replace the battery. (don't fret, 6S+ batteries are dirt cheap and under $15.
Either that, or you may have too many background apps open, make sure you close most of them out, there could be a stuck process or something.
