Hello,

I have an almost two year old iPhone 6S plus which shut down in my pocket with 80% batterry. I tried all the usual steps like hard or soft reset, charging it overnight, nothing.

When I connect the phone to iTunes it automatically tells me it is in recovery and I need to reinstall the OS, which downloads, but then gives me unknown error 6 all the time, on various computers, different original Apple cables and antivirus and firewall off. I have taken it in to repairs and someone said that some chip on my motherboard may have malfunctioned, giving the iTunes error.

Any other ideas before I pay the guy and maybe get burned twice?

Thanks.
