The last two nights I plugged my iPhone in before going to bed but it shuts off in the middle of the night causing me to wake up late because my alarm wasn't able to go off.

It doesn't get hot or anything during the day so I don't think it's from overheating.

Anyone else having the same problem?

And I'm running the 9.1 public beta 2.

It happened to me. But in my case, the device was not charging (it was not even plugged in).
It happened randomly while it was on a table.
Tried to wake it up, but nothing happened
So i had to do a "hard reset" with home button + Sleep/Wake button.

Also running 9.1 Beta 2.

Probably a bug then. I submitted a report earlier so maybe they'll address it in the next update.

How long did you leave the phone on the table for? I wonder if it shuts off after a certain amount of inactiveness.

I left it just for a few minutes. Maybe 3-5 minutes inactive. So i don't think it has something to do with the time.
Thank you for reporting that bug.

Mine died while charging over night. Only way I could get it back was a hard reset. 6S 64GB SG with 9.1 b2

I am on 9.0.2 and my iPhone 6s restart on its own every now and then. I do hope at some point Apple are able rectify this problem.
