I've got a roughly 1 month old 6s with an also 1 month old Apple smart battery case, which is on the phone 100% of the time, and so far has had no issues.
I synced my iPhone with my PC last night and it was totally normal. This morning I noticed my phone wasn't showing up in iTunes on my work PC. I then noticed the battery indicator that gets added to the drop down notification thingee was missing, and I have a "this accessory is not supported" message.
I've tried rebooting the iPhone, which hasn't fixed anything. I pulled the phone out of the case, and immediately my PC "sees" the case (and plays the Windows 'a device just connected' sound), and the case's light comes on that it's charging. I plug the phone back in and the whole thing disconnects again.
Anyone know what's going on? I'm super nervous about Lightning given I've had VERY bad experiences with it so far, but in this case the port on the case actually seems to be working fine, as pull the phone out and it starts charging and connects.
Help! :-O
EDIT: Also, when I plug the phone in directly to my computer they "see" each other and the phone shows up in iTunes and charges. For some reason the phone and case don't like each other anymore :-/
Oh, and the phone shows the charging icon when connected to the case, like it's drawing power from the case.
(Also, needless to say, my OS is up to date.)
[doublepost=1465999728][/doublepost]Okay...I've left the case and phone apart for a little while (10 minutes maybe), and just randomly plugged the phone back in, and this time it "took".
Does anyone know what happened? I didn't DO anything to "fix" it, it just randomly worked this time.
I'm super nervous about Lightning anyway, and this ain't helping :-(
