iPhone 7 and Bluetooth advances in 2016

I remember recently we had articles about how Bluetooth technology was going to be around twice as fast in 2016. Do you guys think these advances will make their way to the iPhone 7? If so, it may help with the wireless audio latency issue.
 
I hope so, the bluetooth in iPhone 6s is BAD, it's worse than any other phone I've used. Constantly I have audio skipping on my headphones, if I cover the top antenna band the Bluetooth audio cuts off completely :\
